# Restaurante Vivian – One of My Favorite Seafood Restaurants in San Juan del Sur
Every destination has those places you find yourself returning to again and again. For me, in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua, that place is Restaurante Vivian.
The first time I visited San Juan del Sur was in 2023. While checking into my hotel, I asked the owner where the locals and returning visitors liked to eat. Without hesitation, Restaurante Vivian was one of the first recommendations.
After my first meal there, I understood why.
As someone who enjoys fresh seafood, I was impressed by the variety of options on the menu. Whether you’re looking for locally caught fish, shrimp, or other seafood specialties, there’s something for just about everyone. The portions are generous, the food is fresh, and every visit has been consistently enjoyable.
What really makes Restaurante Vivian special, however, is its location.
Situated right along the beach on the famous horseshoe-shaped bay of San Juan del Sur, you can enjoy your meal while watching fishing boats, sailboats, and visitors come and go throughout the day. The atmosphere captures everything that makes this beach town such a relaxing destination.
If you time your visit for the late afternoon or early evening, you’re in for an even bigger treat. Watching the sun slowly disappear over the bay while enjoying dinner is one of those experiences that keeps bringing me back whenever I’m in Nicaragua.
The restaurant also offers a full bar, making it an excellent place to unwind after a day exploring San Juan del Sur or relaxing on the beach.
Since purchasing my Airbnb in Nicaragua, Restaurante Vivian has become one of the restaurants I’ll be recommending to my guests. It’s exactly the kind of local business I enjoy sharing because it consistently delivers a great combination of food, atmosphere, and location.
